Coming months, Point FWD will support Prague Airport in their Computed Tomography (CT) trials by providing Checkpoint Insight Tool (CIT) as the primary basis for process development, trial monitoring and technology adoption with regards to the new setup deployed for the upcoming period.
Equipment trials for a new centralised checkpoint
The trial for CT scanners in the security checkpoint is part of Prague’s future development plan to integrate both the current Schengen and non-Schengen security checkpoint into one central security checkpoint. Performing CT trials now helps the airport, the operator and the Czech passenger to get familiar with the new system, and furthermore provides for a good understanding, which is needed to successfully design and plan for the new central security checkpoint.
Prague Airport will be using the CIT along with a standardized Security Trial Monitoring Dashboard. It is a dynamic reporting environment containing passenger data that is measured with CIT in the checkpoint directly, as well as all necessary system outputs from screening technology. By doing so, Prague Airport takes a pro-active approach to their CT trial, planning to frequently evaluate and track progression, working towards an optimal future screening process at the future security checkpoint at the airport.
Collaborative approach to a data-driven succes
Lukáš Popek, Security Project and Process Specialist at Prague Airport, explains: “Process of implementation of new technologies at security checkpoint is crucial for further development of any airport. Thanks to the first-class support from Point FWD, we can better understand our needs, analyse the passenger behavior, and trial the latest technologies with different scenarios. Based on that experience, we can evaluate and set up the right path for designing our new checkpoint.”
“Point FWD’s Checkpoint Insight Tool offers a user friendly interface and well-arranged dashboard which can be quickly modified to customer needs. It is always valuable to work with the most skilled professionals within the industry.”
Point FWD is very pleased to be supporting Prague Airport in their upcoming trials for a future security operation with help of CIT. Robin van Gemert, Manager Consultancy at Point FWD explains: “Combining the best practices from our most recent CIT deployments, we have been able to deliver a common approach to security trial monitoring. In this approach, we enable data integration of all available screening equipment as the basis, and enrich this with the passenger specific data that is captured with CIT, allowing for insights with high granularity.
Being very happy with the preparing steps we have been taking together with Prague Airport, we look very much forward to supporting their upcoming trial and hope for lots of learning, progression and a great end-result.”
